Brit Rock 2023 Film Tour Returns to Toronto
The Brit Rock climbing film series returns to Toronto on Nov 22, 2023, for a one-night showing at The Royal.
The event is presented by Boulderz Climbing and the films will once again be previewed at The Royal in Toronto. Like previous Brit Rock films, this year's installment focuses on bold and beautiful climbing in the U.K. and around the world.
The event runs from 6:45 PM - 9:15 PM on Wednesday, Nov 22, 2023, and tickets can be purchased online in advance. As an added bonus this year, the first 50 tickets are 20% off, while quantities last.

The film opens with Goddess Of Craic and tells the story of Freja Shannon as she attempts to climb Sista Bossen E8 6c in Bohuslan, Sweden and Snell's Law E7 6c at the Burren on the west coast of Ireland.
From there, Brit Rock follows Robbie Phillips in Shining Stones as he explores the seemingly limitless new bouldering and trad climbing opportunities at Ben Loyal in Scotland.
On a more local note, the third film, Helmcken Falls, has Emma Powell and Neil Gresham travelling to B.C. to sample the area's otherworldly ice climbing. The film is especially poignant as it reunites Gresham with his lifelong friend and climbing partner, Tim Emmett.
Shifting back to the UK, the next film, Hard Grit, follows Matt Wright as he throws himself at difficult and committing routes, culminating in the first ascent of the highly dangerous Magical Thinking E10 7a at Pavey Ark, Lake District. This is a must-watch for hard-grit climbing fans.
The next film, Headjam, turns the focus on climbing filmmaker Alastair Lee. Struggling with personal and emotional issues, Lee attempts to overcome the seemingly overwhelming despair he's experiencing by immersing himself in climbing and training. The result is a particularly personal film that has Lee climbing first ascents, bold trad routes, and committing onsights. This is an inspiring film that will resonate with many climbers.
Finally, The Monument, a film that documents the ascent of Ontario's (if not the world's) most iconic roof cracks, will also be on the bill. The movie is particularly interesting as it interviews the legendary Peter Croft, who bagged the first free ascent back in 1986.
