Two New Toronto Area Climbing Gyms for 2014
Ontario climbers in the GTA will be pulling on plastic at two new modern climbing gyms in 2014.

Earlier this year,
Boulderz Climbing Centre announced that it will open a new 16,000 square-foot facility in southern Etobicoke, in the western part of Toronto. The new gym is slated to open in the summer of 2014 and features a variety of free-standing boulders as well as top rope and lead climbing. Boulderz will continue to operate its original Toronto facility, a gym that’s been pivotal in supporting and nurturing one of the strongest junior climbing programs in the province.

The Hub is the second new facility opening this spring and will serve the Markham area. Located near the intersection of Highway 7 and Woodbine, The Hub features almost 18,000 square-feet of floor space and claims to have the most bouldering terrain in Canada. Like many new gyms, The Hub will also offer fitness and yoga facilities.

Both of these gyms will feature modern wall construction and amenities that have become the norm in North America.

The arrival of these new gyms further entrenches southern Ontario as a region with one of the highest number of climbing gyms in Canada.
